Literary walk with the photographer and archivist Gerhard Weber
Gerhard Weber searches for and finds the history(ies) of our city in archives, second-hand bookshops and in conversations with contemporary witnesses. Most recently, he published the magnificent text and picture book "Kempowskis Rostock". But the Mann family of writers also left behind some testimonies in the Hanseatic city. Archives show that the great-great-great-grandfather of Heinrich and Thomas Mann, Siegmund Mann (1687-1772), moved to Rostock in 1711. Even today, the church windows in St. Mary's, donated by the Mann family, tell of an influential merchant family.
Follow in the footsteps of the Mann family, hear interesting anecdotes and all sorts of interesting facts about the history of the city, architecture and literature in Rostock!
