Before the performance begins, each audience member receives a silent disco headset so that they can listen to every word, even in the open air.
At various historical locations of our UNESCO World Heritage Site, including original film locations, 4.5-metre-high large figures tell their story in the best silent film style.
They are supported by a concept of live acting in a balanced combination with a specially created radio play and a real-life character embodied by a professional actor.
In his role as Dr. Van Helsing, he not only guides the audience through the old town of Wismar, but also through the story of the play. With exciting monologues and excerpts from letters and other artifacts that he has collected during his research into evil in Wismar, he lets the audience participate live in his highly scientific vampire hunt.
Over the course of ninety minutes, an eerily beautiful vampire story unfolds, inspired by the classic film.
