Double concert with Northflip and Floating Sofa Quartet
The duo Viivi Maria Saarenkylä (accordion) and J-P Piirainen (acoustic guitar) combine Nordic tradition with modern influences. Their music moves fluidly between folklore and pop culture - rooted in the north, but open to inspiration from all over the world. J-P Piirainen has developed a unique instrument: the guitele, which combines the acoustic guitar and the Finnish kantele in one and the same body. An exciting fusion of a world-famous instrument and Finnish cultural heritage!
The award-winning Floating Sofa Quartet brings together four young Nordic musicians from Sweden, Finland and Denmark: Mads Kjøller Henningsen (flute and Swedish bagpipes), Clara Tesch (violin), Leija Lautamaja (accordion and harmonium) and Malte Zeberg (double bass). With some unusual acoustic instruments, the quartet mixes old and new to create a rarely heard sound. Their repertoire is versatile, their sound warm and inviting - played with energy and palpable joy. Take a seat on the sofa and let yourself drift away!
