Night music

Both members of this ensemble for contemporary music work intensively with new and contemporary music and are very experienced and accomplished instrumentalists in this field. Both can look back on a series of world premieres that document their intensive collaboration with high-ranking composers such as Helmut Lachenmann, Mark Andre, Annette Schlünz, Helmut Oehring, Benjamin Schweitzer, Sarah Nemtsov, Samir Odeh-Tamimi, Michael Quell, Oliver Schneller, Sidney Corbett and many others.

Their collaboration was based on their exploration of the musical work of Lyonel Feininger, whose organ fugues they adapted for their instruments and presented in numerous concerts, together with music by Busoni, Schönberg and Satie. For example, they played in the Dessau Masters' Houses (Feininger's home in Dessau) as part of the Kurt Weill Festival 2015, in the Feininger Gallery in Quedlinburg, in various churches along the Baltic coast that Feininger once painted, etc.

This intensive work resulted in a CD with five of the fugues, which was released in July 2017.

Working on new repertoire, especially in the unusual combination of double bass clarinet and accordion, is also very important to the Stock - Wettin duo. As a result, they have been able to persuade renowned composers to write pieces which the duo have premiered.
The two musicians are equally passionate about early music. They rediscover composers such as Monteverdi, Handel and Bach for their instruments with a passion for tonal experimentation.

In 2018, the highly acclaimed interdisciplinary concert project "RaumFarbKlang - Feininger now!" with light performance took place, bringing Feininger's fugue work into the present day through newly composed works and thus reflecting and consistently continuing the musicians' interest in contemporary music and its anchoring in society - also in connection with other art forms.
