The Brecht Trio premiered the play 'Die Rundköpfe und die Spitzköpfe' at the Kurt Weill Fest in Dessau in spring 2025, where the performance was enthusiastically received.
Artistic Director Gerhard Kämpfe says: "The way the works were interpreted fascinated and inspired the audience" and was "excellent in every respect".
The Brecht Trio, founded by Kikki Géron in 2016, interprets works by well-known artists who were ostracized as "degenerate" in Nazi Germany as well as compositions that have fallen into oblivion. The work to date of the singer and actress, who specializes in Brecht, includes several productions and concert series - including her own - as a soloist and with her trio, including co-productions with Opera Zuid Maastricht and Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg. The trio's arranger is Leo van Lierop. The accordionist and conductor is regarded as a leading ambassador for this instrument and conducts several accordion orchestras in the Netherlands. He has given concerts at home and abroad as a soloist and chamber musician. Dorrit Bauerecker completes the Brecht Trio as pianist and accordionist. She brings with her a wealth of experience from musical theater productions, including many projects with the composer Manos Tsangaris.
