Lecture with Martin Jeschke | Freiraumplaner | Stralsund, admission: 10 euros
During a relaxed road trip from Stralsund to Ada Bojana in Montenegro in 2020, many cemeteries were visited, partly on purpose and partly by chance. Prague, Bratislava and Zagreb are metropolitan cities with exciting stone necropolises. In Montenegro, the towns of Ulcinj, Kolašin, Kotor and Tivat reveal their quiet places. Along the way through town and country, there were always cemeteries that wanted to be found and which then revealed part of their history.
The lecture shows the similarities and differences in cemetery culture in Europe from north-west to south-east and provides information on places of culture, peace and dealing with life and death that are worth seeing outside our own understanding of mourning and remembrance.
