On Mill Day, Stralsund Zoo and its partners invite you to discover the zoo's Dutch windmill.
Visitors to the zoo can get advice from experts as well as discover the products offered by Stralsund Zoo's partners. From freshly baked bread made from zoo flour to zoo honey and products from the zoo's own nursery, guests can learn a lot, taste it or take it home with them to try out. The finale is a showcase event - the Mill Trail - which was launched in 2021. Here you can join zoo farmer Dörte on her journey to grind the farmer's grain into flour. You will learn all kinds of interesting facts about his animals and the traditional tools that help him prepare the grain for the mill. Of course, visitors to the zoo can experience live how the zoo flour is ground in Mahnke's mill and can take it home with them to try.
