Exchange for local history collectors and researchers
The Mecklenburg Foundation and the Kulturquartier Mecklenburg-Strelitz invite you to a local historians' meeting.
Various chapters of Strelitz history in the 19th and 20th centuries are on the program from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Kulturquartier.
First, journalist Christian Stelzer from Neubrandenburg will focus on regional school history. To this end, he has evaluated publications from the Friedland, Neubrandenburg and Neustrelitz grammar schools.
The lecture by Schwerin publisher Dr. Reinhard Wulfhorst will take us into the world of music, tracing the life of the Jewish composer Robert Kahn in Feldberg based on a land deed.
A spectacular murder trial in 1925, which led to the first execution in Mecklenburg-Strelitz and a bitter debate about the death penalty, is the subject of the joint conference contribution by Charlotte Schwertfeger, a pupil at Gymnasium Carolinum in Neustrelitz, and Dr. Florian Ostrop, Managing Director of the Mecklenburg Foundation.
New findings from the research work on the Fünfeichen camp will be presented by former Neubrandenburg city archivist Eleonore Wolf.
A fee of EUR 3.00 will be charged for participation.
