My painting is a permanent search. I wrestle with the light of the colors to express my search and my longing. A longing for something original, true and beautiful - for primal, wild power. "Maria Müller usually works with acrylic or oil paints. She either applies the paint to the canvas with a brush, or she uses palette knives to apply the paint roughly and thickly and smudge it; she can also use her finger to help her. The artist paints in large formats. She gives free rein to color and form. The painter allows the picture to develop organically and says: "The picture paints me, not me the picture." (...)
