A richly illustrated lecture on the meaning and happiness we experience through encounters with nature in the MiM - Wednesdays in the Müritzeum series.
Experiencing nature makes you happy! At least that's what the speaker Prof. Dr. Ulrich Zabel claims. In his lecture, he uses his own nature photographs of special natural spectacles and descriptions of magical moments in nature to illustrate the exciting connection between experiencing nature and moments of happiness. He explains the various reasons for the fascination of nature for us humans, the ingenious drive and reward patterns of nature and the regulatory "brakes on happiness" that affect us today. The last part of the lecture is dedicated to hunting as a form of using and encountering nature. Prof. Zabel is aware of the skepticism surrounding hunting, but describes its necessity and potential for the protection of nature and people.
The messages of the lecture are impressively underlined with readings from his two books "Magical Moments 1 and 2". With these and his pictures of the local nature in the Havel region, he will also bring the magic of special encounters with wild animals to life for the audience.
The lecture is free of charge, but the Müritzeum would appreciate a donation.
