Christian Kracht on Madame Nielsen: "Madame Nielsen continues the themes of literary modernism: aestheticism, decadence, anti-art, Art Nouveau ("The Endless Summer"), the big city ("The Monster"), neo-romanticism ("Lamento"), but also the human being in the big city in an outstanding literary way. Madame Nielsen challenges people in a unique way."
