with the soloist Joachim Karl Schäfer (cornet) and the Prussian Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Aiko Ogata (violin)
Joachim Schäfer is regarded as one of the leading trumpet players of his generation. He impresses audiences and critics alike with his technical mastery as well as his effortless, stylistically confident and dynamically sensitive playing, with which he sets high standards on the trumpet. As a master-class trumpet virtuoso, he is the founder and director of the trumpet ensemble named after him. He also founded the chamber ensemble "Die Dresdner Bach-Solisten" and regularly performs at well-known concert series in Germany and abroad. Joachim Schäfer is particularly dedicated to transcriptions and arrangements. He regularly collaborates with the Prussian Chamber
with the Prussian Chamber Orchestra. The musicians of the Prussian Chamber Orchestra have been performing on stage for over 60 years. In 1954, the former State District Cultural Orchestra of Prenzlau was founded, from which the current ensemble emerged. The twelve musicians from six different countries play works from all stylistic periods. The chamber orchestra is based in Prenzlau.
The orchestra is characterized above all by its versatility. In addition to regular classical, light music and chamber music concerts in Prenzlau, it frequently performs at home and abroad. These include concerts in Denmark, the USA, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Italy and Poland. A recent concert tour took them to Switzerland. The program includes masterpieces for cornet and orchestra - famous melodies, popular tunes and opera arias with Paganini variations. In any case, you can expect an extraordinary program à la André Rieu.
