Together with the parish of St. Marien zu Stralsund, the "Herbert-Ewe-Stiftung Altstadt Stralsund" is organizing a lecture evening with the restorers Dr. Schwartz and Ms. Geipel on the restoration of a large-format painting by Friedrich Christian Stutze (1722-1772), around 1750/70
Following the successful restoration of an 18th century oil painting, which perhaps attracted the attention of many visitors to St. Mary's Church due to its size, the two restorers look back on their work. The painting has triggered extensive research due to the little-known painter and the unusual division into two parts with the statements on texts from the Old Testament. An event on May 28 at 7 p.m. in the Marienkirche Stralsund will also report on this.
