Music, cartoons and a few chunks of Platt / Opening of the exhibition
The musician, illustrator, radio play and children's book author Lars Engelbrecht opens his exhibition "Himmel, Hölle, Hanseaten" with a multimedia live comic show for children on June 17, 2025 in the Ribnitz library. The exhibition shows excerpts from his comic about the Hanseatic era - one of the few comics in Low German. It's about little people, great inventions and progress. It's about philosophy.
In the style of Clever & Smart and the famous Werner Comics, author and illustrator Lars Engelbrecht brings the historical guards to life and holds up a mirror to our times.
They do their clumsy mischief on behalf of the Hanseatic League and defy all dangers:
The guards of the Hanseatic League. Everyone still talks about the merchants of the Hanseatic era today. But every transport of goods, every city wall and every ship of the mighty Hanseatic League would have been defenceless against the enemies without the brave, somewhat chaotic, often forgotten guards of the Hanseatic League. The guards of the Hanseatic League were at home all over Europe, from Venice to Iceland, from Spain to Novgorod, in London, Hamburg, Lübeck, Bremen, Lüneburg, Goslar ...
The comic was created in Neuenkirchen near Greifswald and produced regionally. The Low German corresponds to the teaching standard for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
