with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin
"It should not be called Bach, but the sea!" Beethoven's famous bon mot also applies perfectly to the ten concerts in this summer's "Focus Bach" festival, which are particularly inspired by the works of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Kit Armstrong opens the "Focus Bach" festival on the harpsichord. According to Alfred Brendel, the "greatest musical talent" he has ever encountered, the exceptional musician will give the audience an impression of the unique range that the Bach family of musicians has to offer. Not only the grand master Johann Sebastian and his son Carl Philipp Emanuel have found their place in the program, but also the somewhat lesser-known Johann Bernhard - second cousin of Johann Sebastian. In partnership with Armstrong, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, one of the world's leading historically informed chamber orchestras, will be performing this evening.
