Over the past few weeks, this year's A-level students have rehearsed a play entitled "Schlüssellochgeschichten, oder: Sartres mauvaise foi 2.0" with great commitment and enjoyment under the direction of Ms. Kerstin Richert. This year, too, the autobiographical works of the A-level students, which were written as final papers in philosophy, are in the foreground, embedded in the philosophy of the French existentialist Jean-Paul Sartre. In his philosophy, he founded the attitude of mauvaise foi, or insincerity, and this basic idea is therefore the central theme of this year's play. To be sincere or not to be sincere - that is the question here. Are you curious? Then we look forward to your visit to the Barth Theater.
Invitation to an extraordinary theater experience on May 25, 2025 at the Barther Boddenbühne
What happens when youthful theatrical spirit meets great philosophy? The graduating class of 2025 invites you to a special kind of theater project: "Keyhole Stories OR: Sartre's Mauvaise Foi 2.0". In two performances (15:00 & 18:00), the curtain rises on a play that focuses on the human gaze behind facades - inspired by Jean-Paul Sartre's existentialist concept of self-deception.
A look through the keyhole - into the truth of our roles
In their "philosophical theater", the students take a critical look at the question: Who are we really - and who are we pretending to be? In doing so, they bring Sartre's idea of "mauvaise foi" into the present: digitally, socially and up close.
Why you should be there:
- An original play with depth
- Young, creative ensemble full of energy
- Philosophical themes staged in a modern way
- Only on May 25, 2025 - two performances
