Multimedia duo exhibition in the Botanical Garden
In their duo exhibition "Am Ryck" in the Botanical Garden in Greifswald, Juliane Tübke and Alison Darby explore innovative ways to draw attention to the importance of moorland landscapes. Although moors store more carbon dioxide than any other ecosystem in the world, around 97.5% of moorland soils in Germany are drained for agriculture and forestry. In their exhibition, the artists refer to the history and future development of the Ryck meadow, which Caspar David Friedrich captured in his drawing "On the Ryck in Greifswald with a view of the mills in front of the Steinbecker Schanze" (1801). The artists illuminate the history of the transformation of this meadow from different perspectives and speculate on the future of the moors in Greifswald.
