Experience old textile craftsmanship in new hands.
Experience old textile craftsmanship in new hands. Felting is probably one of the oldest textile processing techniques. People have been spinning wool for more than 6000 years. Wool spinning is one of the oldest and most widespread handicraft activities in the world. Animal or vegetable fibers have been spun into threads and yarns for over 6000 years. Spinning was done with the fingers, with spinning sticks and with hand spindles. These two tools are among the oldest spinning implements. The spinning wheels are not quite as old.
In the Graal-Müritz local history museum, you have the opportunity to take a look at this old craft and get creative yourself. We look forward to your questions and to being creative with you.
