Ton und Kirschen aims to bring the magic of fairy tales to life with drama, music, dance, puppetry and masks to create a shared experience with the audience
The origins of most fairy tales go back thousands of years. They have been passed down from generation to generation and, in all their simplicity, are rich in fantasy, violence, rough justice and wonder.
Fairy tales are linked to the childhood and personal memories of each and every one of us. Thus Heinrich Heine remembers in >Deutschland. A Winter's Tale<, Heinrich Heine recalls his nurse telling him about the goose maid and the talking horse's head.
It is a comforting pleasure to hear the same fairy tale over and over again, magically leading us to a happy ending.
Ton und Kirschen aims to use drama, music, dance, puppetry and masks to turn the magic, but also the warnings that lie in fairy tales, into a shared experience with the audience, in which the imagination of each individual spectator is given space. And - even what is not said has meaning.
