Special guided tour for International Museum Day with a look at the geological collection
The Müritzeum's geological collection weighs tons, as it includes not only the smallest fossils in the collection boxes but also the large erratic blocks in the garden of the nature discovery center.
Some of the pieces, which are otherwise hidden away in the collection rooms of the Natural History Collections for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, can now be seen in the special exhibition "Eugen Geinitz - Exploring the Ice Age Landscape in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern". These and the heavyweights as well as the fine little stones are the subject of a special guided tour on the occasion of International Museum Day. The geologist and research associate of the geological collection Bastian Bruckhoff will guide participants through his "stone kingdom".
Due to the limited number of participants, it is essential to register by noon the day before on 03991/63 36 80.
The guided tour is free of charge. Afterwards, take the opportunity to take a look at the special exhibition and wander through the interactive exhibition areas of the NatureExperienceCenter. Rest assured, there will be no obstacles in your way, but you will encounter many.
