Meteorologist by profession. 10 years before retirement has worked in the countryside with farmers and in the gardens. Shows her photos of whimsical vegetables in the strangest and most unique forms.
Elena Kolcova moved to Germany from Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in 1997. As a hydrologist and meteorologist, she previously worked in Russia in the Oceanological Institute and has made business trips around the world.
In Germany Elena first worked in Ecological Center in Magdeburg, then for a long time in the countryside with farmers and in the gardens. Here in Dassow she shows her photos. To see there are whimsical vegetables in the strangest unique shapes.
Elena constantly comes into contact with vegetables and literally pulls her motifs out of the ground. For several years now, beet, carrot and potato have been her "models". Photos of vegetables - that sounds anything but exciting at first. But what Elena Kolcova has photographed in her work is different. Her vegetables have characters. Dragons, birds, faces, human bodies, whole families can be seen. Especially fodder beets, carrots and potatoes almost seem to have fun imitating people and animals.
One can only say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
