From sand and ash - forest glass

Glass is an integral part of our everyday lives. Aesthetics and practical use go hand in hand. However, Mecklenburg has fallen into oblivion as a production site for glass. Place names still occasionally remind us of the existence of glassworks. The exhibition, conceived by the Schwerin-Mueß Open-Air Museum, sheds light not only on the variety of glass shapes but also on the production methods and consumption of raw materials as well as the legal and social status of glassmakers and glassworks owners.
