"Variatio delectat" - music by Bach, Mendelssohn and Ritter. Giulia Corvaglia on the historic Winzer organ from 1847
Giulia Corvaglia plays music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and August Gottfried Ritter on the historic Winzer organ from 1847 under the heading "Variatio delectat" in the 3rd "fritagsOrgel". Born in Poggiardo, Italy, she received her piano diploma in 2012 at the Conservatorio di Musica "N. Piccinni" in Bari and won prizes as a pianist and worked as a répétiteur at the Conservatorio di Musica "N. Rota" in Monopoli. In 2018 she completed her B diploma in organ and liturgical music. She studied organ and church music at the University of Music in Lübeck, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 2022.
On the occasion of the Nordic Film Days, she developed the music concept for the silent film "The Buddenbrooks" and composed "Memento mori", a work for speaker, synthesizer, vocal ensemble, percussion, organ and electronics. Since April 2022, she has been studying for a Master's degree in Church Music at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama.
Giulia Corvaglia was a church musician in Carlow and Schlagsdorf and interim cantor at the Stadtkirche in Preetz. She has directed the Lübeck Sing- und Spielkreis since April 2023. She is a recipient of the Italian President's Medal of Merit.
