films and future - European Film Festival
Europe's innovative film scene met for the 30th time in Neubrandenburg in the fall of 2023 for dokumentART. Until 1990 under the name of the 'National Documentary Film Weeks of the GDR', since 1992 as dokumentART, documentary, animated and experimental films as well as hybrid forms are shown and discussed at the festival.
This year, the team of the European film festival dokumentART - films & future is once again organizing a tour of selected films through the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the Polish border region following the festival.
This will give all those who were unable to make it to Neubrandenburg last October the opportunity to see exciting and current documentaries, animated films and feature films from all over the world.
The focus of the festival is on the facets of the social, ecological and personal future. The films offer a variety of personal, touching and humorous insights into individual life realities and at the same time provide observations on global events that otherwise remain hidden.
The program will last approx. 120 minutes and include approx. 4 - 6 films, a short introduction and a subsequent discussion.
As this is a European film festival and the films will naturally be shown in their original language, some of them will have English subtitles.
