Water, as an essential element of life, can fill any vessel, from a simple glass to the oceans of the world, without permanently taking on its shape.
Olivia Trummer's music is also in constant motion and crosses the boundaries between different genres with exceptional fluidity and transparency. With her new album "Like Water", the German pianist, singer and composer, under the guidance of the legendary American producer Russ Titelman, takes up the challenge of showing the listener her entire musical essence and making it tangible that the juxtaposition of her inherent musical worlds is not a mere sum of individual parts, but a synthesis. With her delicate and powerful singing and absolute mastery of the piano, she covers a wide stylistic range: from classical music (Bach and Beethoven) to improvisation, from jazz and Broadway songs (Jerome Kern, Leonard Bernstein...) to her own compositions and pop (Stevie Wonder, Brenda Russell...).
Her solo program "Like Water" invites you into a world of sound in which the familiar is transformed into the surprising and the new quickly becomes familiar. The concert will also be enriched by a special guest: Russian jazz double bassist Makar Novikov, Olivia Trummer's husband, will join the musical action as a sensitive duo partner for a few pieces.
