St. Mary's Church is much more than just a place of worship - it is a central piece of the town's living history. The church tower in particular, a landmark visible from afar in Ribnitz-Damgarten, is currently being extensively renovated. However, funding is still urgently needed to complete the work.
In order to preserve this important building, we cordially invite you to a benefit concert in aid of the church tower - with the legendary rock band Karussell.
Karussell - rock history meets commitment
The cult band Karussell was founded in 1976 by Wolf Rüdiger Raschke in Leipzig and shaped the East German music scene for many years. After a successful phase until 1989, the band was relaunched in 2007 by Joe Raschke, the founder's son, with fresh energy. Since then, Karussell have been delighting audiences throughout Europe with new songs, a modern stage sound and profound lyrics.
With a total of ten albums, numerous film soundtracks and concert tours through Europe and South America, Karussell is one of the most important music exports of the East. Their current stage program "Karussell - Hits from 10 albums" takes the audience on an impressive musical journey through the past and present.
The latest album "Unter den Sternen", recorded in the legendary Hansa recording studios in Berlin, once again underlines the band's creative diversity and musical depth.
