Prof. Günter Karl Bose presents his book Franz Kafka im Baltic resort Müritz [1923].

"The weeks in the Baltic resort of Müritz in July and August 1923 changed Franz Kafka's life. It was here that he met Dora Diamant, his last love. He lived with her in Berlin until his illness forced him to leave the city. He died in June 1924. His last year was the happiest, his friend Max Brod later wrote. It began on the Baltic Sea, surrounded by singing Jewish children from Berlin. Despite political upheaval, inflation and violence, it was a summer of love and happiness for Franz Kafka and Dora Diamant.
The book not only provides new facets to the biography of Franz Kafka and Dora Diamant, it is also a tribute to Graal-Müritz, one of Germany's most beautiful Baltic resorts. Prof. Günter Karl Bose, born in Debstedt in 1951, is a German designer, author and former publisher. He studied at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg from 1970 to 1976 and was a publisher in Berlin from 1980 to 1995. From 1993 to 2018, he was a professor at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. He has headed the LMN-Berlin design studio since 2000. His work has been exhibited internationally and is represented in several collections. Bose has written numerous publications and created a collection of anonymous photographs.
