Exhibition, KunstOffen

We will show the first transferred artists' estates in our association archive "Bewahrung von Künstlernachlässen Westmecklenburg e.V." and provide insights into the work of our association. On Saturday there will also be an additional meeting of the former "Parchimer Kunstkreis e.V.", which was active here in the Zinnhaus from 1990 to 1995. We will be showing archive material from the work and works of art by former members. Feel free to drop by.

In the course of an artist's life, numerous works are created that say a lot about the artist, his environment and his time.
What will become of this art? Depot or landfill?
There are already several institutions in Germany that are taking up this challenge.
As of now, there is an association for the "preservation of artists' estates in West Mecklenburg"
We are based in Parchim, where our archive is also located. More than 20 artists and art lovers will be working here on a voluntary basis.
The main purpose of the association is to preserve, not to purchase or trade in art.
The association takes on high-quality estates as donations, stores them, processes them scientifically, documents them and makes them accessible in real and digital form.
In this way, the life and work of an artist can be appropriately represented. This art is thus saved from destruction or oblivion.

Other visits are possible by appointment.
