The special movie

Sandra, a German writer, her French husband Samuel and their son Daniel live in a small village in the French Alps. On a bright day, Samuel is found dead in the snow at the foot of their chalet. Was it murder? Suicide? Or just a tragic accident? Samuel's sudden death seems suspicious to the police, and Sandra becomes the prime suspect. What follows is a grueling circumstantial trial that gradually dissects in detail not only the circumstances of Samuel's death, but also Sandra and Samuel's lively relationship.

At this year's Cannes Festival, Justin Triet was the third woman in the festival's history to be awarded the Palme d'Or for ANATOMY OF A CASE. In the struggle to find out what really happened, Triet cleverly unravels a gripping relationship drama that juxtaposes the contradictions in the private sphere with the harsh reality of the justice system. Sandra Hüller once again shines with her extraordinary and highly nuanced performance and was celebrated by the German and international press in Cannes.
