Seminar with Friedemar Keller | tree climber & landscape ecologist | Greifswald, participation: 25 euros, students: 15 euros
Flying high professionally:
What many people associate with their childhood is our everyday life. We are tree climbers and in this seminar we would like to give you an insight into our everyday work with all its facets and risks.
We will show you what you need to consider before going into the tree, how important it is to approach the tree and what pruning techniques are used to minimize the impact on the tree. We will also talk about typical tree phenomena and their significance for the ecosystem, such as widowmakers and deadwood. You will then learn about the advantages and disadvantages of different rope climbing techniques, which must be weighed up depending on the project. We will show what there is to consider when climbing trees and why it is such a dangerous job.
In this practice-oriented workshop, we offer the opportunity to get a taste of an interesting and varied profession and at the same time learn more about the value and benefits of trees as an important habitat for flora and fauna. We see ourselves as mediators between people and nature and try to bring people closer to nature with all its diversity and benefits through education. This seminar will give you the opportunity to encounter trees in a completely new way and learn to appreciate them.
