The Koeppenhaus Greifswald houses a literary center that offers a wide range of events. In the gallery there are temporary exhibitions in the literary field of tension and a cabinet exhibition on Wolfgang Koeppen.

The birthplace of the writer Wolfgang Koeppen (1906-1996) was opened as a literary center in 2002. It is used as a Wolfgang Koeppen memorial and as a venue for readings, among other things. Koeppen's Munich study and his estate, which belongs to the University of Greifswald and contains 11,000 volumes (archive by appointment), as well as temporary exhibitions at the intersection of art and literature can be visited. In addition to exhibitions, readings, concerts, lectures and films, there is a literature café.

Tremt surf spot

On east wind days Tremt is a popular shallow water spot on the Greifswalder Bodden. The entry area is a bit narrow, but you can do it on the water and on land really wide. A fat nozzle provides extra power in kites and sails.

Greifswald barrage

The development of the town of Greifswald began with the founding of Hilda Monastery. The town was first mentioned in a document in 1248 and received its town charter in 1250. The market square is the heart of the historic old town. Caspar David Friedrich painted the market square with a view of the Ratsapotheke and part of the town hall as a watercolor - on display in the Pomeranian State Museum.

"UNS Riems" Museum of virology

On the tiny island of Riems – situated between Greifswald and Stralsund – is a cutting edge animal diseases research centers. Among other things, bird flu is studied here. The small museum is committed to present the history of this research, focusing on the beginnings and its founder Friedrich Loeffler.
