Located on the Peenestrom in the district Tannenkamp in Wolgast you drive on the route of North German Romanticism along the Dreilindengrund. This translates to: The Ground of three limetrees. The name was given to it from the landing stage at the transfer of the fallen Swedish king Gustav II Adolf in 1633 during the Thirty Years' War. In memory of him three lime trees were planted. The small forest nearby was named Gustav-Adolf-Schlucht.

When the wind blows from the northeast to the south, Rosengarten is a real top spot. The Renaissance palace Ludwigsburg was built between 1577 and 1592 as a widow's seat for Hedwig Sophie von Pommern-Wolgast. After her death in 1631 the palace changed hands several times until it was sold to the Greifswald merchant Weissenborn in 1810.
Baabe is a top location with easterly wind directions. The waves break cleanly on the sandbank and run onto the beach with a moderate shorebreak. In high season, you are not allowed to go on the water in the bathing zone marked with buoys.
The optimal wind direction for the wave spot is east. Then small, steep ramps build up on the numerous sandbanks, which are nice to ride down.
Shallow water lovers will find dreamlike conditions in Ückeritz because of its sheltered location. With a 250-meter wide standing area, the spot is also perfect for beginners. You can rent equipment at the water sports school - and take a warm shower. South to northwest works best, then the wind has a free course.
