Cafés, sustainable

Take a break from everyday life at Café Marie of the Lebenshilfewerk Hagenow! Directly on the market square, enjoy a coffee from our own roasting (also certified organic & fair trade) or a delicious organic tea, plus a piece of homemade cake and finally a handmade praline. We look forward to seeing you!

Café Marie and the associated chocolaterie are at home in the former Ratskeller in Boizenburg and are run by Lebenshilfewerk Hagenow. Café Marie is not only an attractive meeting place on the historic market square, but also a new field of work for ten people with disabilities. We are a partner of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve River Landscape Elbe and are actively committed to sustainable regional development in the biosphere region!
Café Marie invites you to relax, meet friends and enjoy. Here you can watch the employees of the hearty team baking, making the finest chocolate products or preparing delicious savory snacks.
The team is led by master confectioner Tanja Riekhoff and cook Dörte Schröder.
And if you would like to make your own chocolatey temptations, we will be happy to show you how to do so in one of our manufacturing workshops.
