There are still some people who think that Wilhelm Busch is the one with the funny stories that everyone enjoyed reading as a child. "Max and Moritz" a children's book?
It is revealing to see why it became a children's book, if not a children's book.
But: not "funny" at all! Busch - that is the blackest satire, the blackest pedagogy, forbidden material: until 1929, the book "Max and Moritz" was on the index in Styria, for example.
And wasn't there also the anti-Semite Busch? Was he? The contradictory poet and painter, "the uncle of us all" (SZ), the "humorous folk poet" and the role model for all the great satirists who followed in both genres - he will provide us with an amusingly wicked evening.
