Every Wednesday from May to September, this regatta offers an imposing maritime image on the Strelasund against the impressive backdrop of the Hanseatic City of Stralsund.
The equally traditional and popular Wednesday regatta attracts many sailboats and spectators to the Strelasund every Wednesday from May to September. For ambitious recreational captains it offers exciting regatta adventures and for all sailors who want to take it a bit easier at least a real competition feeling. For visitors, it is a guarantee for lasting impressions and excellent maritime photo motifs.
- For spectators:
The best place to watch the Wednesday regatta is the north pier of Stralsund harbor.
The starting line is only a few meters away and thus offers the best view of sailors and boats.
Between 17:55 and 18:15 the different boat classes start in intervals of five minutes each.
At 20:30 the finish line will be closed and all boats should have finished the rgeatta by then at the latest.
Watching from the north pier is free of charge. - For sailors:
All boats, dinghies and catamarans that have registered by the respective Wednesday and have a valid liability insurance (better hull), in which the regatta risk is also insured, can participate. (For registration see contact)
The starting line is laid out directly in front of the north pier. A triangular course will be sailed between the Stralsund Sundpromenade, Altefähr and the Rügenbrücke.
Ten of the 20 races will be included in the overall ranking.
Participation is free of charge, but there will be a fee of 40,00 € for participants who want to take part in all races and those who want to take part in the overall annual ranking.
We are happy to welcome not only local sailors, but also guests from near and far!
For sailors and spectators alike, the regatta evening ends traditionally and comfortably with the evaluation and a drink in the Golden Anchor on the harbor island. Here is the right place to spin sailor's yarn and to ponder about God, the world and sailing.
