wir2 attachment training is an offer for single parents who want support in a stressful situation. It can help to create balance, build bonds and strengthen relationships. Both participation in the program and childcare are free of charge for single parents.
The wir2 attachment training program was developed by a scientific team at the University of Düsseldorf and is a proven and sustainably effective parent training program for single parents with children aged between 3 and 10. Trained educational professionals offer assistance with the aim of strengthening maternal or paternal self-confidence, promoting parental sensitivity and strengthening the parent-child bond. The program has been recommended by the National Prevention Conference and the GKV Alliance for Health as a model of good practice.
During the group sessions, typical conflicts of single parents are addressed, e.g. in role plays and group exercises, and examined from an educational perspective. The main focus here is on separating parental responsibility from the level of couple conflict. Finally, the sensitive perception of the child's needs and the resolution of existing conflicts are promoted by means of child-friendly parent-child exercises for the home. What is decisive and special about we2 is that emotions are addressed in the group process and deepened in relationship-strengthening exercises with the child at home. "Here I was able to learn that I don't have to manage everything. It started something new for me" and "I got specific parenting tips that make everyday life with my child easier", summarize former participants.
The attachment training comprises 20 weekly group sessions of 90 minutes each. Childcare is offered in parallel so that parents can attend the we2 sessions without stress and know that their child/children are well looked after.
