A pictorial journey to nature in Israel and Palestine in the field of tension between extreme drought and the blessing of water.
Speaker: Peter Sense, Schwerin
The Middle East is one of the most arid and hottest regions in the world. The speaker Peter Sense has captured many impressions in his photos of blooming desert landscapes, water sources for survival, plant life and migratory birds. The Jordan springs originate at the very northern tip, at the foot of the 2814 m high Mount Hermon.
The photo show takes us from the Jordan springs to the Dead Sea, from the Jordanian border through the desert to the Mediterranean and the sparkling starry sky above the desert.
The short distances in a very diverse landscape are impressive. Mountains and plains, desert and fertile fields are often very close together. Mountains over 1,000 meters high and then again valleys that lie below sea level, plus numerous nature reserves. A colorful diversity is omnipresent here. Peter Sense confesses: 'In view of the splendor of the flowers here, it is easy to praise the Creator for this breathtaking abundance.
