There are names in the German music business that need no introduction. Veronika Fischer is a prime example of this. She was one of the most successful, if not the most successful singer in the GDR era. Many people still vividly remember the early seventies, when artists with their own style conquered the audience. Global influences left their mark on artists and audiences alike. The fusion of rock, pop, chanson and jazz made up Veronika Fischer's style and became her trademark.
As early as 1973, Veronika Fischer was already known for songs such as "Nachts" and "Blues" with the group
"Panta Rhei" in the charts and in 1975, her song "In jener Nacht" reached first place in the annual charts. Her solo albums sold millions of copies. Songs such as "Auf der Wiese", "Blues von der letzten Gelegenheit", "Sommernachtsball" and "...dass ich eine Schneeflocke wär" are still unforgotten today. Veronika Fischer has now released a total of 21 albums. She has now been on the stages of our country for five decades and is still undisputedly one of the greatest German-speaking performers of our time. She recently received special recognition when she was (re)discovered by the "Next Generation" and Max Herre recorded the song "Nachts" with her for his new album. According to Veronika Fischer, songs are always part of one's own language and mentality, because sound and feeling are closely linked to the mother tongue. Her songs have become "evergreens" thanks to the high musical and linguistic quality and the unmistakable character of their interpreter. The songs are written by the best composers and lyricists from East and West.
Her current album bears the expectant name "Woher, Wohin" and speaks of the experiences she has gained from a long life as a singer and musician. Songs for adults with sophisticated lyrics and, of course, the unmistakable voice of the audience favorite.
