The fisherman, poor but content, catches a butt that is actually an enchanted prince. He selflessly sets him free again, but his wife Ilsebill has wishes for the fish... The fairy tale takes children into the world of life on the Greifswald Bodden in the early 19th century, while at the same time drawing a wide arc into our own time. The parable about life in harmony with nature and the immeasurable greed for more is highly topical for our times.
