Lecture: Accompany the graduate physicist and astrophotographer Thomas Storch on an unforgettable adventure as a star guide on the majestic Teide volcano on Tenerife.
Most people associate the Canary Island of Tenerife with sun and vacations by the sea. The fact that it is also a wonderful place to observe the starry sky is still relatively unknown. Astronomical observations are particularly easy on the Teide volcano, the highest mountain in the Canary Islands, and in the surrounding national park. The graduate physicist and astrophotographer Thomas Storch, also known as the "Star Stork", has been there several times and worked as a star guide on Mount Teide for 7 weeks last year. On February 19, Thomas Storch will come to the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heath Nature Park and take you on an unforgettable star tour on the majestic Teide volcano on Tenerife. Let yourself be enchanted by the fascinating, almost extraterrestrial-looking landscape of the 2000-metre-high caldera by day and night. Discover the largest solar observatory in the world and find out why the Canary Islands even exist on the moon. Experience the breathtaking starry sky and the unique sunset at an altitude of 3500 meters, directly on the summit of the volcano - a sight you will never forget.
The lecture at the Karower Meiler Nature Park Center starts at 7 pm.
