What was true of Caspar David Friedrich and his paintings can also be applied to other art forms. In music, too, there are unique features, "shining points" that turn a song, a piece of music or even an entire opera into an event. Every time they take to the stage, musicians embark on a search for the spark that turns the musical text into music and triggers something in the audience - possibly even images, created from a single shining point.

With our new music theater series "FREISTIL", we want to open up a space for experimentation, the unconventional and the transgressive. With great creativity, relying entirely on the versatility of the ensemble, we want to invent unorthodox, adventurous musical theater, making great theatrical moments possible beyond the big stage.
