A truffle hunter living alone in the Oregon wilderness must return to his own past in Portland in search of his beloved feeder pig, which has been kidnapped: Rob (Nicolas Cage) lives a secluded life in the lonely Oregon wilderness - alone, except for his only friend. A friend who happens to be a loyal truffle-hunting pig. Rob trades the expensive truffles he collects with a young businessman for the meager supplies that feed him. But Rob's peaceful solitude comes to an abrupt end when he is injured during a violent confrontation between rival hunters and his pig is stolen.
To find his pig again, Rob is forced to venture into Portland's cutthroat restaurant scene. There, his secret past as a culinary legend is uncovered, as well as the tragic loss that drove him into exile. As the rescue mission embarks on a dark and mysterious path, Rob must prove just how far he is willing to go to save the last thing he loves.
