Poetic tour through the nature of the Wismar cemetery
The green oasis now invites you to linger, reflect and explore. In addition to the greening of the trees, it's also time for the rhododendrons to bloom. The beautiful purple, white and red flowers can already be seen in parks and gardens. But nowhere else have the rhododendrons blossomed as magnificently and in such a variety of ways as at the cemetery in Wismar. That's why a visit on this day is doubly worthwhile. On this tour, you will learn about this evergreen plant and experience how colorful and soothing the cemetery can be. A walk accompanied by spring poems also shows the historical change with the different burial options and promotes the important confrontation with our finiteness.
The meeting point is at 4 p.m. at the Ostfriedhof (Schweriner Straße entrance) on the square in front of the former mortuary. A donation of 5 euros is requested for the preservation of the cemetery culture.
