Caspar David Friedrich and Philipp Otto Runge
The opening of the exhibition and installation "Religion as Image - Image as Religion. Caspar David Friedrich's pictureless altar" coincides with the birthday of the Wolgast painter Philipp Otto Runge. This is no coincidence, as Runge was also involved in the creation of the altar in St. Marien Greifswald. After the birthday boy has been festively played on the organ, Stefan Rahde, Director of the Wolgast Museums, presents the relationship between Caspar David Friedrich and Philipp Otto Runge.
