An exhibition and installation on the creation of the altar in St. Marien Greifswald
The altar in St. Mary's was designed over a long period of time in a dispute between Caspar David Friedrich's contemporaries. Friedrich himself contributed a design. This exciting history of its creation is presented in a variety of ways, particularly with regard to the question of which architectural forms and pictorial representations lend themselves as an expression of faith.
