Sonja Daemen reads episodes from her life that are connected to Greifswald and Caspar David Friedrich. The memories begin with the conquest of the enchanted monastery of Eldena as a child, lead to encounters with the famous painter's motifs, first in Greifswald's museum of local history, then to Dresden, Leipzig, Saxon Switzerland, Frankfurt an der Oder, the Giant Mountains and Charlottenburg Palace, and finally to the impressions of her return to the city of Greifswald after forty-five years.
