White Noise

The WHITE NOISE program consists of two works that are fundamentally different in style:

The first part of the program BRITTEN-TANZ, a collaboration with the Opera Estate Festival in Bassano del Grappa, is an expressionist work that makes use of classical ballet technique. It creates a projection of romantic, comic, caricaturistic and sensual energies. These are like different pictures in a photo album, only in moving and dancing form.

The second part WHITE NOISE is inspired by the physical phenomenon of "white noise". White noise calms us and can keep out noise, which is why it has an extraordinary property for people in general and for artists in particular to overcome trauma and find inner peace.

White noise refers to a constant sound frequency that contains the entire spectrum of audible sound in equal measure.

It is thus the acoustic analogy to the phenomenon of the color spectrum: although our light is composed of seven different and each unique colors, it appears to us as a harmonious radiant light.

The Hamburg Chamber Ballet has artistically translated the physical concept of light and sound spectra to humanity and merged it into a harmonious whole through dance. Just as light and sound have different spectra, but nevertheless merge into a harmonious whole, we humans also have different characters and characteristics.

WHITE NOISE is an interplay of classical and contemporary movement language.

The Hamburg Chamber Ballet commissioned a new piece of music for the piece, which was composed by Alexander McKenzie. It consists of a string quartet and a piano piece.
