Reading & book premiere with Brigitte Fretwurst as part of the 23rd Ahrenshooper Literaturtage
Brigitte Fretwurst presents "Poems from Fischland" from her new volume with the same title. The author is related to the people between the Baltic Sea and the Bodden by blood and marriage. She writes with heart and soul about the country and its people, about the present and the past - about the proud old dune house, about the legendary, vanished captain's bench, about thoughts by the sea - insightful, subtle, humorous. (Layout by daughter Kay Fretwurst, congenially illustrated by son-in-law Friedrich Wall. 104 p., Leohnhard-Thurneysser-Verlag, Berlin & Basel, 2024
The author
Brigitte Fretwurst has published more than forty books since 2003: novels, short stories and poems. In these books, the main characters are people who refuse to be beaten down and act humanely, including people on the margins of society - surely an expression of the author's understanding devotion to children, to the "weary and burdened", as well as her decades of very successful educational work with disabled children and adults.
