Guided Tours & Tours

Guided tour with Remo Kette | Gärtner | Buschenhagen, participation: 7 euros

As Insel e.V., we have been based in the rural southwest of Island of Rügen since 1990 and see ourselves not only as a social service provider, but also as a socio-ecological project with many facets. We are just as concerned with supporting people with disabilities as we are with protecting and caring for nature and making a contribution to the cultural development of the region. We are reviving the once abandoned village of Kransdorf and offer a wide range of living and working opportunities for people with disabilities in our residential forms and agricultural workshops. The inclusion of art, culture and crafts is important to us. We sell our home-made products in our workshop store "naturInsel" in Gustow.

We founded the nursery in Kransdorf in 1995 and have continuously expanded it. We are certified according to the guidelines of organic farming. We grow various types of vegetables, fruit and herbs on three hectares of garden land and in four greenhouses. We also process some products ourselves. Fruit juices and herbal teas are popular with our customers. In the winter months, we produce Advent and Christmas decorations, felt with sheep's wool or knit. We supply our products to organic stores in the region and to the workshop's own store in Gustow.

Remo Kette will give a guided tour of the nursery.
