An afternoon concert with songs from the two NOLA albums and with new pieces that have just been created for the beginning of spring 2025.
After a two-week stay in New Orleans in 2014, Mark Rose and Christian Florié decided to form a band. They adhered to the most important rule of this fascinating city and just got on with it, anything was allowed. This is how the band's debut album "NOLA" came about in April of the same year.
A purist duo CD recorded in the living room at home, with a drum kit and a couple of guitars. The name NOLA stands for New Orleans in Louisiana and soon became the name of the band, which would never have existed without this enchanting city. Mark Rose and Christian Florié present their own songs from, around and about New Orleans in Louisiana AND the beautiful life in Mecklenburg. Music without borders, which is constantly being created anew on stage and which cannot deny its roots.
Their second studio album "Second Line Parade" was released in April 2017, recorded on the Mississippi and the Spree with the help of a number of musical guests: John Fohl, Kirk Jospeh, Wendell Brunious, Charles Joseph, Torsten Harder, Bert Wenndorff, Jörg Vollerthun, Henry Bauer and Jürgen Feuerbach.
On March 23 in the Kiefernheide church, Mark Rose and Christian Florié will be playing in a trio, with bassist Thomas Hoppe from Berlin supporting them and making the church vibrate with his double bass.
